I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your family from all of us at Parkend School. Parkend Primary is a Community School, providing education for 4 – 11 year old children. There has been a school on this site since 1882 and the site is ideal.
It is a peaceful location - a little way above Parkend village near St. Paul’s church – a superb setting with a lovely playground, field, outdoor classroom, adventure playground and a forest school set in the heart of the Forest of Dean woodland.
We cater for the pupil’s spiritual, mental, social and cultural development in a warm and friendly environment where expectations are high and pupils relate well to each other. At our school your child will be well cared for, safe and happy; will enjoy and achieve. We value parental contributions and aim to create a positive, caring atmosphere in which children develop their personalities and potential. The school`s curriculum provides memorable experiences and rich opportunities for high-quality learning and wider personal development. We aim to produce succssful learners who are confident individuals and responsible citizens with a lifelong love for learning.
Parkend School is big enough to have a strong identity, yet still small enough to allow us to treat every child as an individual. We are constantly striving to improve our school and active fundraising by `The Friends` helps us to do this. Pupils take a lead role in the decision making process with our school council meeting on a weekly basis. Our school is set at the heart of Parkend community whereby we are all proud to work together to provide the best possible education for each and every one of our pupils.
We hope you can find the information you require in our Prospectus. If not, then please contact us. We will gladly give of our time to discuss any further questions you may have . Parkend School is built upon openness and trust and we will always be pleased to hear from you.
